Peter is an accomplished entrepreneur and military leader with over 25 years of experience building teams and achieving outcomes from the strategic to the tactical. His personal mission is to ensure the sustainable advancement of Australian society; achieved through his advocacy for an informed and engaged citizenry, championing the achievement of national resilience, and his personal leadership within his community.

Peter is the co-founder and former Chief Operating Officer of the tech business Sonder. Sonder’s holistic platform offers a single entry point for personal safety, mental health, and medical support - health professionals are available 24/7 via chat or call, with an average response time of just 10 seconds. Alongside his co-founders he developed the product, operating model and team that has driven Sonder’s significant success, including a significant pivot from the personal safety market into a comprehensive wellbeing platform that supports over 1 million people. The highs and lows of his nine year journey has reinforced fundamental truths about the criticality of operational excellence within a business. 

Prior to his time in the start-up ecosystem; Peter proudly served in the Australian Defence Force for 18 years as an Army Officer, most notably 10 years in the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR). Peter has deployed on operations across the world; from combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, to sensitive, complex environments in Ukraine, Africa and South East Asia. As a SAS Squadron Commander Peter had the privilege of leading Australia’s finest diggers - learning and growing from their influence. This experience brings a wealth of lessons hard learnt; from managing complexity to clarity in communication to making decisions in ambiguity.
